We are looking for 3 dedicated and detail-oriented Scheduling Review Committee Member from the above the wing membership in both Vancouver and Calgary to represent their coworkers in discussions with the company regarding schedule development at the base for a two-year term. These individuals will bring forward their fellow member’s concerns regarding scheduling and work with the company while considering operational requirements, ensuring a fair and balanced approach to the process.
The following three opportunities are available:
- 1 YYC Above The Wing - must be a full-time employee
- 2 YVR Above The Wing- one full time and one part time employee
(Above the Wing members include all members except for those who perform Ramp Services duties in YYC).
Article 9-3 in our Collective Agreement states,
- 9-3.01 Two (2) Union Representatives from Above the Wing, one part time and one full time status, and one (1) Union Representative from Below the Wing (where applicable) will be designated to participate in the Company’s Scheduling Review Committee (SRC) at each Base.
9-3.02 Each SRC will meet prior to the rosters being released for bidding of each new eight (8) week schedule. Each SRC will review Employee concerns for scheduling issues, as well as proactively review the schedule and issues that may impact scheduling for the purposes of making recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent and advocate for members scheduling concerns and preferences.
- Collaborate with company representatives.
- Analyze schedules for efficiency, fairness, and compliance with the CBA
- Identify trends, challenges, and areas for improvement.
- Provide constructive feedback and suggestions for schedule enhancements.
- Balance members needs with the demands of the airport operation.
- Communicate updates and insights from scheduling discussions to coworkers.
- Meet with the company every 8 weeks on a Monday on paid time (please note that if you don’t regularly work on Monday’s, you will be required to attend the meeting virtually).
- Reply to email inquires from members as needed.
- In collaboration with the other SRC members, prepare a report for the company based on members’ feedback.

- Strong understanding of scheduling challenges and members needs.
- Analytical skills to review schedules, identify patterns, and propose solutions.
- Ability to understand the CBA language and its application in the workplace.
- Excellent communication and advocacy skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with both members and management.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.
- Commitment to fairness, transparency, and CBA compliance.
