On Thursday, April 3, 2025, an important email was sent from elections@uniforlocal531.ca to all above the wing members in YVR, YYC and YYZ about the nomination and election period for Workplace Representatives at our three bases. This is a new email address for our local, so be sure to check your inbox, spam, or junk folder in case your email provider filtered it.
Unifor Local 531 is proud to welcome our newest workplace representatives in both YYZ and YYC, serving our Ramp Service members below the wing! These dedicated members have stepped up to support their colleagues, ensuring that workplace concerns are addressed and that our Collective Bargaining Agreement is upheld.
The rollout of iPads in YYC is now almost complete, providing a powerful tool to improve your daily tasks and enhance the guest experience. The team in YYZ has been successfully using iPads since July of last year, and their feedback has been positive. Now, it’s YYCs turn to benefit from this technology and next month YVR will see them rolled out.
Nominations for the YYZ Ramp Service Agents Workplace Representatives have officially closed, and we now move forward to the next important step—the election.
YYZ Ramp Service union members will have the opportunity to vote for their Workplace Representatives next week. Voting will be conducted online through Simply Voting, ensuring a secure and transparent election process.
On Saturday, March 8 at 1130, the Unifor British Columbia Regional Council Women's Committee is hosting an International Women's Day Lunch and Learn at the Unifor Union Hall in New Westminster.
