Unifor Local 531 (YVR) is pleased to appoint the newest employee representative to the Joint Workplace Health and Safety Committee. Please share our congratulations to Al Ali (Aiyaaz Ali).
Al Ali brings ten years of Health and Safety experience to the role from his previous employment with Coast Mountain Bus Company. As a former Unifor member, he is passionate about being a workplace safety advocate and is familiar with WCB forms and safety investigations. His past roles include Job Steward, Chief Job Steward, Acting Property Representative, Health and Safety Representative, and Co-Chair (H&S). He has previously attended Unifor's five-day Health and Safety course (5-day program), twice, at the learning center in Port Elgin. Al Ali enjoys helping others and is committed to playing a role in the resolution of any safety concerns.
Al Ali has lived in Vancouver since 1976 and has been married to Zarina Ali for the last 30 years. Together they enjoy visiting sunny destinations in their free time.
