Unifor Local 975 represents unionized employees across four companies in Ontario’s natural gas industry: Enbridge Gas Distribution Inc., EnerCare Home Services, JRL HVAC Inc., and Metergy Solutions Inc. Our membership includes both clerical and field employees working throughout the province.
Local 975 Units
Each company represented by Local 975 is organized as a separate Unit, governed by its own elected Executive Board and Stewards. Every Unit maintains its own By‑Laws tailored to its specific needs.
The four Units are:
- EGD Unit: Enbridge Gas Inc.
- EHS Unit: EnerCare Home Services and Service Experts
- JRL Unit: JRL HVAC
- MSI Unit: Metergy Solutions Inc.
Local 975 Executive Board
The Local 975 Executive Board is composed of elected Officers from each Unit’s Executive Board.
Its responsibilities include:
- Enforcing the Local and National Union Constitutions and By‑Laws
- Managing the day‑to‑day administration of the Local
- Providing oversight and support to all Units
Local 975 Council
The Local 975 Council governs the Local and the Executive Board. It is made up of:
- Members of the Local 975 Executive Board
- Unit Officers
- Chief Stewards
- Stewards elected at the Unifor Local 975 Triennial Convention
The Council’s role is to:
- Oversee Local Union policies and the Constitution
- Make decisions on behalf of the Local between Conventions
- Approve major expenditures not authorized by Convention
- Authorize, elect, or appoint delegates to conventions or conferences (excluding the Local 975 Convention)
